About Us

The company was started in 1968 by Sylvester "Skip" Ellenbecker under the name of Ellenbecker Construction. The company started out with 2 employees laying block and brick around his hometown of Athens and the surrounding areas.

It took one year before Ellenbecker Construction started to grow to 15 employees and do larger projects including concrete work. The company had a small office and shop on the Hwy 29 and Hwy 97 intersection which was remodeled in 1972 after the company grew, this is the same year that the company incorporated and changed its name to S. D. Ellenbecker Inc. Then in 1998 the company was forced to relocate due to the highway 29/97 highway interchange reconstruction. The company relocated in Athens, as the first company to break ground in the new industrial park.

Our company currently has grown to 45 - 50 full time employees on an annual basis. Dean Ellenbecker, is currently our company President replacing Sylvester 'Skip' who passed away in 2013.
